About the Artist
Martha MacFarland is an educator by trade. She has taught for more than two decades, primarily language and literature, college readiness, debate, and public speaking. However, in her heart, she has always been an artist. Her quest for seeing the world through a spiritual lens has inspired her mandala art. Creating mandalas is an expressive way she promotes inner peace and well being in herself. She is happy to share her artwork with others as she recognizes that mandalas represent the universe, wholeness, and unity. The circular shape represents infinity while the inner space symbolizes the connection between all life.
Infinite Hue brings mandala art to everyday life with products such as framed canvas art, bags, backpacks, water bottles, notebooks, and more. With mandalas embodying a harmonious design with symmetry, Infinite Hue adds creativity and inspiration to your life.
What is a Mandala?
A mandala is a geometric design that often looks like a circle filled with repeating shapes, patterns, and symbols. The word mandala comes from Sanskrit and means “circle.” Mandalas are found in many cultures and are often used in spiritual, religious, or artistic practices.
In many traditions—especially in Hinduism and Buddhism—mandalas represent the universe or the journey toward inner peace and self-discovery. They are used as tools for meditation and mindfulness.
On the left, the artist created her own mandala, the Martha Mandala in order to incorporate the symbolic lotus flower as a way to reflect her own spiritual journey and her quest to find an energetic balance within herself.
